I had a pint of this (Volume 1: Foreign Stout) on my recent visit to Rattle N Hum. I am completely in love with this beer. I literally had a dream about it the other night. Thick head, big malty front end, thick but not syrupy, and a long, boozy, peppery finish. And peppery. Did I mention peppery? One of the nicest beers I have ever had. Kudos to the folks at Left Hand.

IPA Recipe
I’ve also been hard at work on a new IPA recipe. I’m using Austin Homebrew’s clone of Green Flash’s West Coast IPA as a starting point. I made that once before, and it was fantastic. Brooklyn Brewery Tour
Yesterday, I took a tour (again) of the Brooklyn Brewery. They’re in the middle of a huge expansion, and it’s been fun to watch them fill out their new space. Here’s a quick shot of their new kegging line, which can fill 100+ per hour.
