Any day that you buy supplies to make beer is a good day.
Today I ordered the ingredients for my “Gimp Biscuit.” I decided to go with the slightly more British-y S-04 over the more neutral Nottingham yeast.
I also ordered supplies to make an ale version of a Bavarian dunkel. I drank a ton of Dunkel when I was in Munich this summer and now consider myself well-acquainted with the nuances of the style. Plus, I happen to have an extra packet of Fermentis Safbrew WB-06 Wheat Beer Dry Yeast in my fridge (bought back in July when I was worried about the health of the White Labs yeast for my Bavarian wheat) and it’ll work well with that.
Also picked up a new hydrometer (I smashed my old one under my kettle at the end of my last brew day) and a 1′ section of high temp hose (helpful for clearing stuck sparges, which I am almost certain to get when brewing the Dunkel).
